For UN Vesak Day 2019

It is a great honor for us to extend to you our congratulatory salute for the organization of the 16th United Nations Day of Vesak Celebrations, and our sincere wishes of great success in this significant endeavour on the occasion of the most important day in the Buddhist calendar.
We are very proud to participate in this special event which gladly takes place once more in Vietnam, where the roots of Buddhism are strong, offering a great example that may encourage the spread of the Dharma abroad, and specially in Western countries like ours in Latin America. The West has deepened its comprehension of Buddhism thanks to great worldwide masters like Ven. Thich Nhat Hanh, and needs to keep embracing and developing the Buddhist teachings with the help of such enlightened contributions.
We are also delighted to acknowledge that this years theme of the academic conference reflects the pivotal role that engaged Buddhism should play in the international community by addressing issues such as mindful leadership, sustainable societies, global education in ethics, responsible consumption, the challenges of the new technologies, etc.
Finally, we look forward to the extraordinary opportunity that this event represents, bringing the international Buddhist organizations together, and allowing us to develop stronger bonds within each other in order to reach out to our societies and the global community.
May the Dharma keep spreading for the benefit of the many!
